Neb, ust a simple “All gamers buy their Audigy’s from Best Buy” would had been just fine. Funny how much information is crammed into that beer guzzling head of yours.

P.S. I picked up that Plextor DVD[u]+[/u]RW today. Two Samsung 910T’s are next.

Well it does input at pro sample rates, but only two channels at once. If you wanted to record more than two distinct sources in parrallel the audigys are decent, but a little bit overkill feature wise unless you are doing midi automation. The internal breakout is nice though. A Delta 44 is somewhere in between the Revolution and the Audigy, but a slightly lower sampling rate. Sampling rate doesnt make much difference once its above 48khz unless you are doing multiple effects processing operations on the original wave though.

And for this you had to open the case and stare at the motherboard? Also, since there is only one audio jack, as always, I dont see how you’re “still not convinced the sound system is easy to use”.

There is only one audio jack (output). The speakers need to be plugged in at one place (lets say central unit or as it is today subwoofer) then the subwoofer is plugged into the audio jack.

I don’t like rebates. I like 30 bucks off but, not for all my personal information.

You’re confussing me when you say “sound system”. Just say speakers and sound card. I don’t understand how staring at the motherboards makes it hard for you to plug in the speakers to the on-board audio.

Also, this 4 pronged do-hicky. You mean the CD audio cable (CD-Rom to sound card)? If so, they make those in Y cables.

If you’re doing 5.1 and looking for a card I would reccomend the M-audio Revolution (http://www.midiman.com/products/en_us/Revolution51-main.html). Its fairly inexpensive for the output sample rate and bit depth. Its only stereo input I think, so it really wouldnt do anything for recording, but hooked up to a decent 5.1 system it should sound very clean.

All I need is video with component input and I can edit Guys Night one. Make one copy that is decent and another copy to blackmail bartenders.

This sound system from [url=http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2177,CONTENTID=9586]Logitech[/url] would meet my needs for speakers. 5.1 THX with Wired remote for around 140. Still searching for a better sound card.
