Gmail Has Gone Getarded

Gmail has this ticker at the top of all the pages that has some healine that relates to the subject with in the email.

I’ve got 2 pieces of spam, this is for the past 2+ weeks because I know who not to give out my email to. I’m in deleting them and the headline at the top says:
Spam Breakfast Burritos – Bake 5-10 minutes, serve with salsa
I think that’s tryin a little to hard on getting people to click on something. So I click on it, right? No I didn’t click on it. I’m kinda pissed that Gmail has the ticker there. They should have an option to turn it off. UPDATE: They do, and I’m a Getard. They don’t have an Add Your Own option though.

How To Waste Your Fifteen Minutes

Why am I now seeing more and more Internet karaoke videos? It started out with Andy’s Kids Songs, which was good because it took five minutes for the joke. Then the Star Wars kid. Now there’s a onslaught of lazy web-cam’ed, in front of the computer, “funny” karaoke videos. If you’re going to put time into doing something in front of a camera, make it look like you know what’s entertaining. Examples: the two slant-eyes who did the Backstreet songs, the black guy doing all genres of songs, the old cab driver who don’t know the words to some stupid love song, the many random two kids dancing to techno a. There are tons ‘n tons more that just suck. I’m kinda tired of new ones popping up for no reason. If it’s been done before, don’t do it again.

I think I’m going to start the era of actually making cheesy internet music videos. Something that may have more than one camera angle. I might even go outside. Groundbreaking ain’t it?!

MTV Can Go Pimp Themselves!

West Coast Customs is done Simple Green’ing engines on MTV. Ryan Friedlinghause, owner of WCC, complains that they aren’t being taken serious or getting any new customers. I don’t think it has anything to with the fact they’ve whored themselves out for teenie boppers for two years.

Wow! A 1986 Ford Taurus rollin’ on bling’d out 16’s, painted some piss colored metalic gold with 13 plasma screens in the trunk, a 100 pound stainless steel spoiler on the trunk lid and a scoop on the roof. Then rip out the back seats to install a 200 gallon aquarium just because the 16 year old owner who hasn’t even thought about college, let alone a major, likes turtles.

Plus all that, all the other shows seem to do twice as much work in half the time. The 30 minute ‘Pimp My Ride’ show allows 2 weeks to complete the car. Most of the other 1 hour shows do all the work in 7 days.

I saw the WCC crew make a guest apperance on Overhaulin’ the night. They helped Foose out with a ‘68 Firedbird. When I say helped, I mean, they painted the car for Foose. One color, with a “Foose Fade”, which is a tone or two darker shade along the base of the car.

WCC is supposed to be getting there own Discovery show soon. “American Pimpers”?

The 2005 NFL Divisional Playoffs & Conference Championships

Wow. Well I went 1-3 this week. Who knew Carilina could keep running the ball well, even agianst Chicago. Or that the Patriots would turn the ball over five times. Or the Steelers just out played the rested Colts and win the time of possesion battle. Not me.

The Skins just don’t have an offense that can scare another team. Once they do than, then people can start talking about how “good” they are. They went on a six game winning streak, and they were bound to burn out. Seattle has an OK defense but every Redskins fan forgot to notice who had the number 2 ranked total offense in the 2005 regular season. There was a poll about this game. Only two states had the ‘Skins winning. Maryland & Virginia. Can you say NFL blinders?

Carolina is running the ball very well which sets up their passing game nicely. They owned the Giants and continued with the Bears. This week Foster is out and Alexander is expected to play. It’s going to be tough to see the Pathers match up their running game with the Seahawks. Plus, the Seahawks can use their passing game to setup the run. A luxury I believe Carolina doesn’t have.

Steelers handled the Colts. Can they handle the Broncos? They’ll have to use the same game plan to advance. Bad news is, Denver knows what Pittsburg has to do to stop them. I see Denver attacking by ground to keep the defense out on the feild and win the time of possesion. A tired defense can’t beat a rested Jake Plummer in the 3rd & 4th quarters. Pittsburg is going to have to take 100% advantage of any turnover.

The Ringer (2005)

Just what a love story needs, a bunch of retards. When are they going to stop ruining movies with love interests? I was already hating myself for laughing at all the trainables, now I gotta wrap it up with sap? I think this movie would had been better with more making fun of the mentally challanged but, it get’s you to change your ways and like these goofy bastards at the end. Wanna see a move that pushes taste a little? Stop the movie at the awards ceremony scene. It’s OK till then. I’m not going to buy this DVD, but I’ll watch it agian… on cable… if nothing else is on.

Waiting… (2005)

It’s the Office Space for community college goers! I worked I the restaurant biz for a hot sec and this reminds me of my days at Friendly’s, minus “the game”. I remember having to be the last one at the after party, the countdown, the 5 second rule. Ok, I never did the 5 second rule cause I was to parinoid someone was watching but, I have seen it done and I’m not naming who or where. Oh yea, don’t forget whip-it’s too. Besides, who hates Ryan Renolds (Van Wilder)? Not I. What a great dinner conversationalist. He reminds me a little of Chevy Chase. Plus Luis Guzmán, the guy who’s name I never can remeber but refer to him as the bartender in Boogie Nights. Some might remember him as Lloyd’s janitor father in Dumb & Dumberer. He’s been im alot of movies and TV, even on Miami Vice. Also, Dane Cook who plays a cook was good. Lastly, Andy Milonakis, the dude, not kid [read: Born 1976]. The one who did the Kid Songs video that got passed around the internet. Not the star wars kid even though they do look simular. The kid Jimmy Kimmel “discovered”. Even though I saw the Kid Songs clip way before the Man Show was even thought of. Some one can’t be you’re child if they were born before you. As for buying this movie, I just might do so. It’s a good drinking movie, in the lines of Office Space, Super Troopers & Dumb & Dumber. Alot of good quotes. My favorite? “Dinner is served!” Yea, you’ll be disturbed with that one.

The Usual Suspects (1995)

This movie was OK but it could had been better if I didn’t already know the ending. This douchebag used Kaiser Soze as his alias to pick up chicks on the internet. P.S. If you do an internet search looking for info on some guy you’re talking to from the Woodbridge / Dale City area, he’s got two kids, been locked up for stupid shit and should be called out on anything he says.

Back to the movie. I don’t know. I guess knowing the ending hurt my opinion of this movie. Just like The Sixth Sense and The Village. So my tally is up to three ruined movies for me. Even though it did take me ten years to get around to watching this one.

Kung Fu Hustle (2004)

How to discribe this movie… Dick Tracy meets Kill Bill Vol. 2 meets Big Trouble in Little Chine minus all the white people. This movie had it’s humorous momments but really isn’t supposed to be drop dead funny but just really entertaining. I enjoyed it. No really sappy love story to it. I was annoyed by some of the special effects though. It seems like a very westernized kung fu flick. As if they were to lazy to learn how to do a stunt or move. On the Plus side, this movie is beautifully composed. Great cinematic techniques and theatrical scenery. It’s very eye pleasing.

Catch this on cable. It’s kinda not worthy of someones DVD collection unless you have money to burn.

Marcus Vick, The Dumbest Thing Since PopoZão

Granted, PopoZão has only been out for a short minute but, Marcus has been able to make himself look like a complete moron in one weekend. OK, maybe it really took 3 years but that’s not my point.

This kid was talked about and hyped up just like Eli was being said to be just as talented as Peyton. All Eli and Marcus had/have to do is show up to the draft, get selected and start collecting paychecks. Their name sakes paved the path for them. You have to give it to Marcus though. He doesn’t need the help of his father to look like an ass.

Over this past weekend Marcus “dismissed” from VTech football team for his little antic during the Gator Bowl. If you don’t remember of didn’t see, he “stomped” on the left calf of Louisville defensive end Elvis Dumervil. First it was and accident then he blamed it on “competitive emotions taking control”. Did he forget he was on national TV? Did it look intentional? You make the call!

OK, so what. He got pissed in a game and tried to physically injure someone. Isn’t that what they are supposed to do? Maybe a little but you’re not supposed to stand on the guys leg like its a tire iron on a lug that just won’t loosen.

Fast forward 24 hours from Saturday’s Gator Bowl to Sunday evening at a southern Virginia McDonalds parking lot. Picture this. Your a little pissed you got kicked off your college football team and you’ve just announced your making you’re making yourself available for the NFL Draft. Feel on top of the world don’t you? Sure do! How can we top this day of? Nothing say fun more than pulling a gun out on a 17 year old at Mickey D’s. Nice.

Let us take a stroll down Memory Lane.
Sept. 2, 2003 — Suspended for one game by coach Frank Beamer for undisclosed reason.
Wah! Nobody loves me! He then proceed to go eat worms.
In February 2004, he was charged with misdemeanors for allegedly giving alcohol to underage girls and having sex with a 15-year-old at a party the month before. That May, he was convicted of three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined $2,250. He was found innocent on the charge of having sex with the 15-year-old.
Hey, you gotta admit, nothings better then 15 year old drunken snatch. It’s hard to find a female to bang at college. Especially in Blacksburg. You can’t got to any where nice because all the restaurants are bars. Plus your so busy being the quarterback of a Division I college team.
On the morning of July 3, 2004 he was charged with reckless driving and possession of marijuana after a traffic stop. Three days later, he was suspended from the Tech football team. A month later, he pleaded guilty to reckless driving and no contest to marijuana possession. He was fined $300, temporarily lost his license, and ordered to perform community service and enter drug counseling. The same day, he was suspended from Tech for the entire season.
Opps, my bad. It’s hard to see out the window when the inside of the car is cloudy. Actually, police said he was clocked at 86 mph, 21 mph above the speed limit. I think I heard a rumor that big brother took away kid brothers car that was bought for him.
Cleared to return to the team in January 2005, Vick helped the team to a 7-1 record, but controversy still followed; during a win Oct. 1 at West Virginia, he made an obscene gesture to jeering fans. Vick apologized the next day.
Obscene?!? He was telling the other teams fans that they were number one in his book. Yep, right after the West Virginia fans praised Vick’s performance and said that they wished him the best of luck. Yep. Right after they were done bangin’ there sisters in the stands.
On Dec. 17, he was pulled over in Hampton and charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license.
I guess driving fast from point A to point B doesn’t result in less time on the road and being caught driving on a suspended. The math looked good on paper.

Basically his stock is/has been falling. I’d expect him to for 4th or 5th round, maybe 6th but there’s probably some team out there with a secret eye on him to take him 1st, 2nd or 3rd round.

If he’s not careful, I see Marcus having a nice “four year, three team, Lawrence Phillips” career.

King Kong (2005)

all in all, i really didn’t like it. i like the 1976 version better…. this version was way too long, and adding in all the creatures, t-rex’s, and other weird things decreased my respect for it. however, the PS-2 game is killer….i beat it in less then a week…..not too bad for me.
