UT Wins the Rose Bowl & Move into #1 NCAA Champion spot
Yay….okay, so the general topic of this post is in the title. I was betting against UT the entire game, seeing as USC has been #1 all year long, but UT pulled out the game winning TD with 26 seconds left in the game, and as if that wasn’t enough, they go for the 2 pt. conversion to make sure they couldn’t be beat if USC came back with a FG at the end. What an awesome game! The morning after the game, Dallas was a sea of orange and white!
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)
No movie ever follows the orginal book anymore. Most of you might say, “Wow, Boof can read?!” Altough, I can, I did not read the book. I’ve been told the comparions from the book to the movies vs the 1971 version. Dag, ‘71. That’s older than me.
So. What I liked. Depp’s mannerisms. Plus, I can see myself [url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367594/quotes]quoting this movie[/url] often. Also, the kids seemed more diserving of their fates in this version.
What I didn’t like. The rock opera Oompa Loompa songs. From what I’m told they used the poems from the book but cut out a lot of the verses, plus I just didn’t dig them like the ‘71 songs. The one Oompa Loompa. Everything is better in multiples, minus STD’s. All the orginal Oompa Loompas rocked, all the Munchkins in Munchkin City rocked, the stuffed dummy of Mini Me that they threw around the room rocked and Bridget Powerz sucks. Seriously, checkout the [url=http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0032138/fullcredits]cast of the Wizard of Oz[/url]. There are more midgets than Japanese people in a Godzilla movie, maybe even all Godzilla movies combined. There are key elements that need to go in to a movie to make it great. Examples, kicks to the groin, jokes about shit, any kind of e-brake slide in a vechile, blind people, ninjas, blind ninjas or tons of fucking midgets. I mean, lots of midgets not midget orgies but, that would be funny also. I didn’t like the Bucket shack being showcased in the middle of town. Any city would had torn that outhouse down in a heartbeat. The fact that cotton comes from a plant and not sheep. That part erked me. Pink wool. Uggh. By the way, the cow they were whipping should had been wearing chaps. And who the fuck shelves candy bars along the wall like movie rentals at Blockbucker? What was that all about, imagery? To show the candy moving off the shelves? How about casting more that 20 people to ransack a candy store. I’ve seen more people line up for Power Rangers, Tickle Me Emo’s and PSX’s.
I thought the plot to the ‘71 version was better even though the ‘05 was closer to the book. All in all, I’m going out and buying the ‘71 DVD. I thought that this would had been better as the second book, “Charlie and the Glass Elevator”. Apparently, Roald Dahl hated the ‘71 version and refused the producers the rights to make a sequel. Maybe Burton won him over this time?
