…is really getting on my nerves lately. First off, I’d like to say that spending $45+ for a home phone is retarded. Hence, the reason I went with Vonage.
I started out with a $15 plan for 500 minutes a month. Which is perfect because I rarely call anyone from home and no one ever calls me.
Then Vonage started adding random fees, so I’m around $20 a month. I get an email every month saying, “I’m taking your money now, make sure you have money in your bank account.”
I just got some NewsFlash email this morning… the 27th… of December. It read…
What’s on YOUR List This Holiday Season?
Dial 1-700-CALL-SANTA and tell the big guy yourself!
Now through Christmas Eve, you and your family can call Santa from any Vonage phone! Have the kids call 1-700-CALL-SANTA to tell Santa what’s on their wish list and to find out what’s going on up in the North Pole. We’ll secretly relay that message to your email address so you can share it with family and friends.
Track Santa
Plus starting at 5pm EST on December 24th, you can track Santa’s whereabouts! Just call
1-700-CALL-SANTA to find out exactly where Santa’s going and where he’s already been. It’s our way of keeping the holiday spirit alive!
Hmmm, way to be on the ball, assholes. Needless to say, I’ve just opt-out of marketing emails that I don’t remember asking for.
On top of all that. The website is slow, hasn’t been showing recent calls and my caller id hasn’t been matching up with what’s on the website. I’m just not as happy as I use to be with it.
I’ve been looking to switch to someone cheaper. Anyone know?
I’ve found Via Talk (9.95 for 24 months). Nice features within their web based control panel.
iConnectHere is the cheapest I’ve seen at $7 a month but their site only looks good in IE. Blah!
And Skype, that’s just one step closer to me buying a cell phone. Blah x 2!
