I received confirmation from a friend with ABC that there is to be a red and blue themed light show tonight in the west Springfield area between 12 and 3 am. I’m guessing they’ll hit up the usual spot in front of St. Bernadette’s.
If your planning a Friday night happy hour, better cab it home.

Is there any place that posts these online? For some reason I was thinking it was a matter of public record where they were going to be.
Legally, it’s public record. However, there isn’t a law that says the record needs to be easy to find.
There were two. One int the the Franconia District and one in the West Springfield District. Apparently. I don’t go out on Thursdays nor drive near the two big churches off Braddock. I did go out Friday and didn’t see a checkpoint along Old Keene Mill.

Sobriety Checkpoint Results
In Franconia Police District
Fairfax County police officers from around the county conducted a sobriety checkpoint to deter and apprehend intoxicated drivers on Thursday, June 12 from midnight until 3 a.m. Friday. All motorists were stopped and drivers were checked to assure that their abilities to drive had not been impaired by alcohol or drugs.
Approximately 140 motorists were stopped at Backlick Road near the intersection of Larrlyn Lane. There was one arrest made for DWI. Two traffic summonses were issued for driving on a suspended operator’s license. One additional summons was issued for driving without an operator’s license.
Eight officers and four auxiliary police officers participated in the checkpoint. [/quote]
Additionally, approximately 136 driver were unconvinced by these 12 people. Looks like it’s a ratio of 200:1 on drunk drivers.
There weren’t any results for the West Springfield district.
Also. I read in one of the press releases. If there’s a homicide near by, they’ll close down the checkpoint to do real police work. So, checkpoints aren’t police work. It’s just something to pass the time.

Great, so rather than risk MAYBE killing someone on the road we HAVE to kill someone to get them to leave. Real safe dumbasses.
I’m really waiting to hear a story on the news of how a drunk driver plows though a Checkpoint and kills 10 police officers.
