“You are banned from this site due to an unknown user agent”
How about; “Sorry we don’t support Safari, please access this site with Mozilla” . Which would be a more intelligent response.
Just my 2 cents, don’t know if that was part of the package or you did that yourself.

I’m using Safari to access the Llama, and its working just fine for me….. maybe user error??
It must be a newer version of Safari. My Firefox was “banned” when I first upgraded. Although Safari isn’t IE, which is good. It definitely ain’t no Firefox, which is bad.
Here’s my question to you. If it needs to be more intelligent, to let you know that it doesn’t support Safari but then again, it doesn’t know your user agent. So, how is the response going to be more intuitive if the error is caused by lack of information?
That user agent filter is part of the CMS. It’s to cut down on bots and allow user controlled browsing to continue through without hassle. Sometimes.
I’d fix it but I don’t know what version of Safari and verion of MacOS you’re running. Actually I won’t fix it. I’ll just go grab the newest UA file from the repository. It’ll probably be “fixed” then.
Here is my version.
Version 3.1.2 (4525.22)
My user agent file was from 3/9/2008. I just updated it with the newest version that was released on 07/27/2008.
Try it now. Should work I assume.
It does.
