Grayson (2004)

In lue of April 1st, and the fake Zelda movie trailer that’s been spreading like wild fire, I give you a different fake movie trailer that I watched yesterday. It was created by some fan boys back in ‘04. Even has it’s own IMDB listing. You can watch it here. (5:27) Hi-Res link. It’s pretty much the awesome.

Dan In Real Life (2007)

Steve Carell makes up for the fact that comic whore Dane Cook is in this movie. Cook doesn’t steal scenes in this movie. Well maybe a couple, when he tries to sing. The only other big names are Dianne Wiest of the “The Lost Boys” and John Mahoney of “Frasier” fame. I was waiting to see this even though its a family type movie. I thought it was a well thought out and smart movie. It made me laugh more times than I thought I would. There’s enough stupid humor to balance out the sappy make-girls-cry scenes at the end. Definitely worth a look.

The Air I Breathe (2007)

I thought this was a good movie, not radically different but enough to be enjoyable. The cast includes Kevin Bacon, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Forest Whitaker, Emile Hirsch and other people from shows I don’t watch but other people like to disrupt movies by asking what show everyone else remembers them from. There isn’t one story to the movie, it kinda meshes multiple stories, all in a row. If you’re looking for something to watch, I’d recommend this as a rental.

Into The Wild (2007)

Alexander Supertramp, big dummy. The movie was OK but it only keep my attention because of a mild build up for the end. Even then you kinda know what’s to come. I wouldn’t drop everything to do what he did. Watching was good enough for me. The only thing that urked me was the reference to the “Annandale Police”. Do your research, dummies. Go see it? I say only on cable. Unless you like Eddie Vedder because, he’s all over the soundtrack.

There Will Be Blood (2007)
A story about family, greed, religion, and oil, centered around a turn-of-the-century prospector in the early days of the business.
This movie should be either called, “This Will Be Boring” or “There Will Be Blood, Eventually, Wait For It, Waaaait For It”. Not only did it take 14 minutes before someone even said something in the movie, the soundtrack was just horrible. I can’t recommend it at all but I can’t stop you from watching it. Daniel Day-Lewis is the only reason this movie got it’s Academy Award nominations. Minus the cinematography, which was good. In conclusion, if you miss this one, you won’t be missing much.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdon of the Crystal Skull (2008)

Welp, so much for the “Last Crusade”. May 22. Looks like the other Indy’s. Which is a good thing. Now I have to go back and watch the originals again.

The Bucket List (2007)

I like both Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson but Nicholson just seemed annoying in this movie. Maybe that was intended. This is your basic white guy/black guy buddy film. It had it’s moments, people cry and in the end everyone learns a lesson. Yay! I’d give it a 6.5/10.

Hancock (2008)

Hey look! Another Will Smith movie. This time he’s a superhero. Looks pretty good to me though. Even though I like movies like these. It comes out July 2nd, 2008.

Charlie Wilson's War (2007)

A drama based on a Texas congressman Charlie Wilson’s covert dealings in Afghanistan, where his efforts to assist rebels in their war with the Soviets have some unforeseen and long-reaching effects… blah, blah, blah, boring.

I found myself getting up and doing errands during this movie. I’ve heard some people praise this movie also. It just didn’t hold me.

Philip Seymour Hoffman is more of the reason I watched this. Along with the nudity. Tom Hanks isn’t enough for me to want to watch. I probably won’t watch this again.

He Was a Quiet Man (2007)

Christian Slater, eh. Elisha Cuthbert, who? Oh, you meant some hot chick. Nice. William H. Macy, sweet. Sascha Knopf, who again? Oh, another hot chick. Nice.

So this is kinda an American Psycho meet crazy postal worker but for desk jockeys. Sorta like Milton from Office Space. It’s definitely worth a watch if nothing else is on.
